This one deserves the full explanation, from the included text file :)

How we did this? ...Well, we couldnít have done it without Phrogram for a start!

We used Microsoft PowerPoint to create the sprites, then copied them into Adobe PhotoShop , resized and turned them  into a .PNG file...all resource files have been attached to our upload.

The fisherman, jetty, sea, sky are all one sprite...

We did it this way because it was what we were familiar with...there is MSPaint and other ways, but this is just how we knew best...

Hmm...we ended up with a fisherman that looks suspiciously like a member of the Phrogram team that starts with a W. (...we chose a denim shirt! Attached also are the PowerPoint Files, should you wish to change your attire!)

The sounds are the great ones you find anyway in Phrogram...so no credit there!

Ok...back to the game...

The game is unusual we think - it is a test of endurance!  Interestingly; it has no end and no score until you have had enough (or as we will later explain, your mouse has not fallen apart!) until the player hits  ëEscapeí ..but you will still know how well you have done, (or your ìscoreî) as it will give you the total weight of your catch...the idea behind this was to keep the code as minimalist as possible...we came in at just 150 lines of code...woo hoo! including all the waffle and white spacing!

Now, how to play...

You need a mouse with a wheel. This gives it a kind of Nintendo Wii effect. If you donít have a wheel thingy on your mouse, change the command MouseWheel to LeftPressed...hopefully everyone can play then.

Drop the line down with the mouse wheel...if you go too far...you canít reel in - so youíll  have to wait for another fish, to be on the same level as your  hook...if you go right down too far off the screen then itís tough luck! Youíve gone too far and youíre probably  just best starting over again!

When the fish is attracted to the bait move the mouse wheel up as fast as possible to land the fish. If you canít do that then the fish hits the sea bed and is lost...but donít worry! Youíll always have another attempt!

Be prepared when you play and the fish is heavy to bash your mouse wheel to death. A technique we learnt was to turn the mouse upside down on the mouse mat and scroll the wheel that way...Or hold it up off the table and ìreelî in using your fingers closed together. It will save blistered fingers! It helps also to have a wireless mouse!

Other times it is just better to let the fish drop and be lost to the sea bed as you shake your head...!

Above all have fun!

Tomdad

P.S. 22nd june 2007 - added new code to change the Physical size of the fish so you know what's coming, MichaelH gave us that idea so thanks!
