Or is it? I thought somewhere I saw davidw post that the contest would stay open until we have 5 entries, but I cannot find it now...
I have an idea for a prize, a free, custom add-in library, but with only 10 (or less) fetures of the winner's choice. And MAYBE, the phrogram team would consider adding on to it, and making it available (for a small fee?).
Just my thoughts,
Cipherboy

The last day for contest entries has passed and I see three entries:
I don't know whether we ever said there has to be a certain number of entries or we'll just keep it open until there are - we tried that one time (last summer), when we had a contest about anything to do with measuring or using time and it didn't help.
So, I'll put it to those who follow the site - anyone else intending to enter who ran out of time, or close to submitting something? If not, we'll "call it good." But then we have to figure out what the prizes are ...
Cipherboy, the challenge of your idea is - we don't have anyone on the team who has the extra time it would take to write made-to-order add in libraries. Wish we did!
Had another thought on this...had a brain wave and had another look at our code this evening but yep...still stuck so definately out this time! Think actually it might be limitations of how fast this PC of mine is? Took out all delays and timers and game play was and is still very slow indeed...stumped a bit...
Oh well...
Good luck everyone else!
Slow as in opening, or slow as in everything is in ssssssssssssssssssssssssssslllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllloooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmoooooooooooooooooooootttttttttttttttttttttttiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
If you rely on the size of the screen, like in my asteroids deluxe, if you have a big screen, and maximize the console, it goes slower than a snale...
Thought of a way around it...incrementing rather than by 1 pixel...try 2 ...3 etc...and using timers to compensate for faster machines?
But do I have time to do this right now...nooooooooooooo!
Busy at the mo - and my son is doing his mock exams too...so only the one brain at the moment with no time. I'm sure we'll work on the problem another time...
David:
Do you think you/The Phrogram Team will have more time after 3.0 is released?
TomDad:
Could you post your file? Then maybe if you like what we have done to it, and David would let us, you could still enter it, but it would (hopefully!) be faster...
Just my thoughts
We work on our own problems - handing them over to someone else is too dead easy...thanks for the offer though.
We won't learn anything by doing that I don't think otherwise...
We are building an interesting skill set together...my son has gone off a bit more on the PC/Games Console side of things; where I have gone off more on the Cell phone stuff.
The cell phone stuff is eating into my spare phrogramming time...and of course having to work for a living too!
It would be just me anyway this week working on it and would not want to hinder the people who have worked hard on their entries - only to eventually come up with nothing - that would not be fair!
So with regret, we are officially out....until next time!
